Flasys announces technology license and product agreement with ANAM for high density and high performance embedded non-volatile memory (NVM) process

Seoul, Korea -- September 30, 2002 -Flasys Corporation of Cheongju, Korea today announced that Flasys has signed a technology licensing and product agreement with ANAM Semiconductor, Inc. of Bucheon, Korea.

Under the terms of the Agreement, ANAM licenses an embedded NVM process technology from Flasys' patented UniFlashTM Technology to develop embedded NVM logic process modules which will be used at ANAM's existing 0.25 and 0.18 micron CMOS fabrication line and plans to manufacture highly integrated, high performance NVM-embedded SoC as well as high density stand-alone flash memory. Both parties will also cooperate in the development of world-class IC design companies who are seeking for advanced embedded NVM solutions for their own differentiated SoC designs which will be manufactured at Anam's CMOS fabrication line.
The embedded NVM logic process technology being implemented is based on Flasys' UniFlashTM Technology and ANAM's CMOS logic process, respectively and will result in a high density, very low power/energy consuming and ultra-fast data accessing multiple types of NVM IPs (flash + EEPROM onto a single die) for SoC products as well as high density flash memory products. This process will add minimal additional masking steps to the current ANAM CMOS logic/analog process, making this technology easy to integrate with high performance logic transistors and to produce highly reliable and very high performance NVM device without logic process disturbance or device integrity, and will be highly scalable with technology to deep sub-micron geometries below 0.18 micron.


About UniFlashTM Technology : Flasys' patented UniFlashTM Technology is based on its own proprietary two-transistor cell architecture, enabling highly integrated, high performance and highly reliable NVM-based SoC as well as multi-million mega bit stand-alone flash memory built on a standard CMOS logic process.
This technology overcomes those inherent technological limitations in existing embedded flash technologies and realizes a highly scaleable NVM technology for sub 0.18um process, while providing easy process integration, without re-engineering already established logic/analog technology, high reliability, high performance, low Vcc operation, low power/energy consuming multiple types of NVMs such as flash memory/EEPROM built onto a single die with single process with smaller cell & chip size.
